Changsha Exploration Machinery Factory (here after referred as CHANGTAN) is a Large Hi-Tech Enterprise subordinate to the Hunan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development, and is a member of China Geo-Equipment Corporation (CGE) . Founded in 1958 as Changsha Prospecting Machine Manufacturer, It was renamed in 1981. We have a strong heritage in creating high-performance drilling rigs and drilling accessories.

Located in Changsha National Economical & Technological Development Zone, CHANGTAN has a production area which covers an area of nearly 6,700 square meters, including workshop floor area of 18,000 square meters, with more than 300 sets of precision processing equipment. All of our sites are ISO9001 certified.

CHANGTAN annual production capacity for various kinds of drilling rigs is over 1,000 sets. Our main products include WD-10, TQR-15, QWK-18A, QWK-30-1, WTY-30, QWY-30 serial portable geophysical drilling rigs; GY-50-1, XY-1, GY-100, GY-150, GY-200-1 serial investigation drilling rigs; GY-300A, GY-600, XY-44A , GY-1600 serial core drilling rigs; ZDJ-2, ZDJ-3 serial vibrating drills; BW120QF, BW160QF, BWQ-160, BW160, BW280 serial mud pumps; various kinds of drill rods, core barrel, casing pipe and other drilling accessories.

CHANGTAN strives to achieve best-in-class quality and reliability performance on all our products through a more systematic approach that emphasizes quality at every phase of product development through manufacturing. From initial design concept to fabrication, testing, and assembly; quality is built-in and assured through stringent monitoring of fabrication and assembly processes, materials inspections, new product qualifications, reliability monitoring of finished product and strict change control management.

CHANGTAN focuses on New Product Design Action Cycle Time so as to meet customers' requirements. There is a R&D team guided by the Special Government Allowance Experts and professors-class senior engineers, who has been devoted to the development and production of drilling rigs for decades. For example, PT-50 above-water-platform drilling rig which is developed for the geophysical prospecting project in Nile water area carried out by the Second Department of Geological Survey, Petroleum Geophysical Prospecting Bureau, has made this department achieve good economic return in the project of international tender. C-20 serial impact drilling rig which is developed for the Northwest Institute to Design and Development of the Railway Ministry, has played an important role for solving settlement of foundation and rectification of building.

CHANGTAN drilling rigs have received a lot of awards, such as the Science and Technology Achievement Award presented by the former Geology and Mineral Resources Ministry, the Outstanding New Products Award presented by the State Economic and Trade Commission and the Science and Technology Award presented by Hunan province.
